On the morning of July 22, SS501's Kim Kyu Jong was officially released from the Jeonbuk Jeonju Regional Military Manpower Office after serving for two years as a public service worker since July 2012.
Although there were no special events for his release, many fans and the press waited for him for hours to welcome him back. Ahead of the discharge, SS501 fans (Triple S) also prepared a huge banner titled "Kyu Jong, 2014, We are here waiting for you" and hang it in 27 cities, including major cities in Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Peru,..., showing fan's loyal love for Kim Kyu Jong.
Kyu Jong's agency, B2M entertainment, stated, "Kim Kyu Jong has departed for his home in Jeonju and will spend time with his parents for a few days. He will then hold an official fan meeting to repay fans for their warm support".

SS501's Kim Kyu Jong was officially discharged from his military service requirement today (22nd)!
According to his agency B2M Entertainment on the 22nd, Kim Kyu Jong held his discharge ceremony at the military manpower office in Jeonbuk, Jeonju on the 22nd at 9:30 AM KST.
A rep stated, "Kim Kyu Jong was set to be discharged by 10 AM KST today, but the discharge ceremony was held earlier than expected... When Kim Kyu Jong stepped out of the Jeonbuk military manpower office, there were already around 100 fans waiting to greet him there and Kim Kyu Jong gave a short greeting and waved his hand to show his gratitude."

A forest has been built in Seoul under SS501’s name.
Tree Planet revealed on July 22, “ ‘SS501 forest’ has been built in Mapo district.”
‘SS501 forest’ is a forest that celebrates SS501’s 9th anniversary since the debut and it has been built through the Star Forest Project, which is a part of the green forest project carried out by the city of Seoul and social venture group, Tree Planet.
The SS501 forest was created by the group’s fans from in and out of Korea. The forest also carries the fans’ hope for SS501 to begin promotions again as a team.
The participating fans stated, “It’s a forest that has been made to congratulate SS501 on the 9th anniversary but we’re happy to think that this project will positively contribute to the city’s environment. We yearn for the day to see all members of SS501 on the same stage and hope that this forest will provide the opportunity for the members to meet with the fans again.”
Meanwhile, Tree Planet has so far built a forest under the names of 2NE1, Shinhwa, TVXQ, Infinite, Lee Hyori, SHINee, EXO’s D.O, Baek Hyun and more.

Kim Kyu Jong will be discharged on July 22 after a two-year service working as a public servant in a military administration office in Junjoo, Jeonbook. He entered his mandatory military service in July of 2012.
According to Kim Kyu Jong’s agency, he will not be having any special events after being discharged.
Kim Kyu Jong debuted as a member of five-member boy group SS501 in 2005. After SS501 went on a hiatus as members pursued their own solo activities with different agencies, he released his solo album “Turn Me On” in 2011 and was active as a singer while acting in dramas and musicals before serving his military service.
